- When the booked time runs out, the app asks the renter whether they have left. If there is no reply, it alerts you after 10 minutes.
- If the car is still there, you tap “Car is still there”. The overstay is recorded and, once payments are live, charged at the normal rate in your favour – up to 3 hours.
- If the car blocks you, a CHF 10 inconvenience fee for you is added after review (plus a CHF 5 processing fee to parkbro) – unless the renter reported “Leaving right now” and clears the spot promptly.
- Having the vehicle towed is the last resort – and only under the rules that apply to your property.

Everything you want to know about parkbro – no run-around. Missing a question? Write us.
What happens then.
- Report it right away in the app – with a photo. For short bookings, your booking ends there and the app shows you free spots nearby.
- The host can share their side within 24 hours. A decision usually follows within 48 hours – without a statement from the host, automatically in your favour.
- If the report is valid, you get the unusable time back: pro rata from your report, everything including the service fee if you report before the start, a day rate for longer bookings. The refund follows the review.
- The safe way is always the same: take a photo, report, take a replacement spot – the stranger’s car stays untouched.
- Photograph the damage and open a dispute in the app – up to 24 hours after the booking ends. The payout for this booking follows once the case is settled.
- You have 48 hours to settle it directly in chat – most cases are resolved here.
- If not, parkbro decides within 3 working days: both sides are heard, and the decision arrives by email to both, with reasons. Time-stamped photos count – including the renter’s arrival and departure photos.
- As everywhere, whoever caused the damage is liable – parkbro provides the evidence and the documented process.
Getting started
What is parkbro?
The Swiss parking-sharing platform: private owners and companies share their spaces. Book short-term or rent monthly – or list your own spot when it’s free. It all runs in the app.
When does parkbro launch?
Launch in winter 2026/27, across all of Switzerland. The app is built. Already today you create your account, get verified and browse spaces; booking and paying arrive with the launch – then you are in from day one.
Do I need an app?
No. parkbro runs in your browser – on your phone and on your computer, no install. You sign up, list your space and book there just the same. The iPhone app arrives at launch, Android follows; it is the same parkbro.
Why parkbro – and not another provider?
Because parkbro is built for all of Switzerland from day one – not for a single city. No hardware: any space can join immediately. Protection is built in, not an add-on: ID verification, photo evidence, a clear process with a firm deadline. And you keep full control of times, price and pauses.
What does parkbro cost me?
Listing is free. Only on a successful booking do we keep 5 % commission from the host; renters pay a 15 % service fee, already included in the price shown. All amounts are shown transparently in the app before you book.
Do I need a verified account?
Browsing works without an account: map, search, listings and reviews are open to everyone. To book and to list you need a verified account – have your ID checked once, reply within 48 hours at the latest. That way each side knows who they are dealing with. parkbro is for ages 18 and up.
Can I rent or list as a company?
Yes. A company account is verified with the UID and the ID of the acting person; we check the UID against the federal UID register. It appears with the verified company name. Companies book like private individuals; listed spaces are settled monthly per property. Everything for property managers and companies is on the “Property managers” page.
Renting a spot
How do I book a spot?
Enter a place or postcode. White on the map means: free now; grey with “from 17:00” means: free later – you can book that for later too. Filters: only free spaces, price, EV charging, entry height, instant booking, rating. Then set the period and vehicle and confirm. The exact address and the access arrive with the booking.
Instant booking or request – how long do I wait?
If a space says “Instant booking”, your booking is fixed as soon as you confirm. If the duration exceeds the host’s instant limit (default: 48 hours) or the host wants to see new renters first, you send a request: they accept within 24 hours, at the latest before the start. If no acceptance comes, the request expires and you get everything back, including the service fee. Requests need at least one hour’s lead time. If another booking for the same time starts within 14 days, your request stays open until that booking is paid.
How long and how far ahead can I book?
By the hour, day or month – which units a space offers and whether there is a minimum duration is in the listing. Started units count in full. A day runs from one date to the next at the same time, a month from 1 January to 1 February (if the day does not exist in the following month, its last day counts); Swiss time applies. You see the exact end before confirming. You can book up to a year ahead and for up to three months at a time; you can extend any time in the app.
Can I book on a recurring basis, for example every Tuesday?
Yes. When booking, switch on “Repeat weekly” and choose the number of weeks. Each week is its own booking with its own service fee; weeks in which the space is taken are skipped by the app, which shows you this beforehand.
Will my car fit the space?
The listing shows entry height, size class and whether the space is covered. If you store your vehicle with its size and height in your profile, the search only shows spaces that fit it and warns you if the entry is too low. What the listing specifies applies: the stated vehicle, within the markings.
Can I charge my electric car?
Filter by “EV charging”. The listing states whether electricity is included in the price or handled separately – the host specifies this in the listing. There is no billing of charging electricity through parkbro today.
Are there accessible or extra-wide spaces?
There is no dedicated filter for this today. What a space offers is in the listing: size class, entry height, photos and description. If something is unclear, ask the host in the chat after booking – and cancel free of charge within 10 minutes if it does not fit.
How do I get to the space?
With the confirmed booking you see the house number, space number and exact location; the app guides you to the entrance. Gate code and access note appear in your booking one hour before the start and remain visible until 24 hours after the end. They are confidential – for you only, for this booking only. Once you have viewed the code, the 10-minute grace period ends.
Do I need to put something behind the windscreen?
We recommend it. In your profile you will find your parking card with a QR code: print it once and put it behind the windscreen – it works for every booking. Whoever scans it sees only whether a booking is running, with location, spot number and the start of your plate – never your name.
Can I come with a different car?
The booked vehicle is the one you specify when booking – the host recognises your car by its licence plate. In your profile you store up to eight vehicles and pick the right one when booking. The licence plate of an existing booking cannot be changed today: cancel it and book again with the right vehicle – within 10 minutes of booking this is free.
I am running late or not coming at all – what applies?
Report the delay in the app – your space stays reserved for you until the end of the booking and the host is informed. If you do not come at all and do not cancel, the space still stays reserved for you; from the start there is no refund.
My booked spot is taken – now what?
Report it right away in the app with a photo – possible from 15 minutes before the start. If only the gate code fails, report that without a photo. For short bookings, your booking ends with the report and we show you free replacement spaces nearby; longer ones continue. The host can give their view within 24 hours; the decision is usually made within 48 hours, and without their statement automatically in your favour. You get the unusable time back: for short bookings from the time of your report – before the start everything including the service fee –, for longer ones one daily rate. The money comes after the decision. From the second recognised incident you cancel the rest of the booking free of charge.
May I block in the other car or have it towed?
The safe way is always: take a photo, report in the app, take a replacement space. On private property the police do not issue fines, blocking a vehicle in is prohibited, and whoever arranges towing themselves pays first and may be left with the costs in a dispute. Enforcement against the unauthorised vehicle is the host’s job – towing is the last resort and follows the rules of their property.
Can I extend?
15 minutes before the end the app reminds you. Tap “Extend”: if the following slot is free, the extension by one unit is immediate and binding – you see the surcharge beforehand. If it is taken, the app tells you straight away. If the total duration exceeds the host’s instant limit, it becomes an extension request; until acceptance your current end applies. If the payment for the extension fails, you have 30 minutes to pay; otherwise it lapses, your previous end applies again, and after that the overstay rule applies.
What happens if I stay longer than booked?
After the end you have 10 minutes’ grace. When the time runs out, the app asks whether you have left – a tap on “I’m gone” is enough. If you stay longer, the overstay is recorded and, once payment processing launches, charged at the rate of your booking, for at most 3 hours. If you block the host and do not respond, after review CHF 10 for them and CHF 5 handling are added; whoever taps “Leaving now” and drives off promptly pays no flat fee. As a last resort the host may have the vehicle removed at your expense. Easier: extend beforehand.
Can I leave early?
Yes. Release the space in the app – it is immediately available to others again, and every full unused unit is refunded automatically. Example: you book 4 hours and leave after 1½ hours – you get the 2 full remaining hours back. The same applies to days and months: every full unused unit comes back – so nothing for a single monthly rental, and with three booked months, the third one after a month and a half.
How do I cancel?
Within 10 minutes of booking you cancel free of charge – unless you have already had the access to the space (gate code or note) displayed. After that: for bookings up to 14 days free until 1 hour before the start, for longer bookings and monthly rentals until 7 days before; then 50 % of the rental price paid back until the start (for monthly rentals, of the first month), no refund from the start. The service fee is refundable only with a free cancellation. You withdraw an open request at any time – nothing was charged. If the host cancels before the start, you get everything back, including the service fee. If the host cancels a rental already in progress, you get back the time you can no longer use, with the share of the service fee.
Why my licence plate?
It serves access and checks on site – only the host of your confirmed booking sees it. Publicly your profile shows your first name and initial (“Max M.”), profile picture, Verified badge and reviews; the host learns your full name upon acceptance, your e-mail and phone never.
How do I pay?
Directly in the app, with TWINT, Apple Pay or card through our payment partner Stripe. If your booking starts within 14 days, you pay right away; otherwise we charge your payment method 14 days before the start. A monthly rental is paid month by month, each time 5 days before the month begins; we announce every later charge 3 days in advance. The price including the service fee is shown before booking, not at the end. Booking and paying launch in winter 2026/27; until then nothing is charged. If you reclaim a payment through your bank, new bookings, requests and extensions are paused until the matter is resolved; bookings in progress remain. If you let three bookings lapse unpaid within 30 days, you cannot book for 24 hours.
Listing a spot
Am I allowed to list my spot?
As an owner, yes – observe your building’s regulations and local rules. If you rent the space yourself, you need your landlord’s consent (Art. 262 CO); they may refuse only for a few reasons, for example if you charge considerably more than you pay yourself. When listing you confirm this and upload your rental or purchase contract or other proof that you may use the space – we check it and delete it 30 days after the decision.
I own a condominium – may I list my parking space?
Yes, if the space belongs to your unit – as your own share or as an exclusive right of use. Your regulations may restrict letting to third parties; a look before listing is worthwhile. As proof you upload the purchase contract or other evidence that you may use the space.
What do I need to list a space?
Three things: an account with verified identity (ID and a selfie with the ID – we delete the images after the decision, at the latest after 48 hours), per listing the proof that you may dispose of the space (rental or purchase contract or other proof), and at least one photo of the space. You must be 18.
Which spots are allowed?
Spaces on private ground that you’re entitled to use. Municipalities may also offer their own spaces that they themselves control – for example at a school or works yard. Street parking, spaces in blue or white zones and other publicly managed parking spaces are excluded.
What goes into the listing?
Address and exact point on the map (publicly others see only the street without number and an offset pin), type, height and number of spaces, at least one photo showing the space and the entrance – without other people or licence plates –, price per hour, day or month, your time windows and the access. A price suggestion comes from real market data for your region. After review the listing is online within 48 hours.
How do I set times and days?
You choose any weekdays and one time window per day – also overnight, e.g. Mon–Fri 17:00–08:00. You block individual days in the calendar. All times are Swiss time. Bookings are only possible within your windows.
Instant booking or request – what applies to me?
Bookings of up to 48 hours confirm themselves – whoever is in the car does not wait. Longer bookings reach you as a request; you have 24 hours, at the latest until the requested start. If you do not respond, the request expires and the renter gets everything back. You set the threshold per listing and can require new renters to always ask you first. If a renter extends, it takes effect immediately if the following slot is free – you get a message with the additional rent.
I have several spaces – how do I list them?
Spaces at the same location with the same rules you create as one listing with a quantity – it counts as free until all are taken. Different locations or prices each get their own listing. You see your earnings per listing and in total.
How do I set the price?
You decide. When you list, we show a suggestion based on real market data from your region – a guide, not a rule.
When does my listing go live?
After a short manual check – within 48 hours. That keeps fake listings out.
Can I change my listing later?
Description, photos, access code, time windows and pauses you change at any time. Price, location and rental unit are fixed as long as bookings or requests exist – so every booking stays as it was concluded. If you change the title, address, type or number of spaces, parkbro re-reviews the listing; until approval it is briefly offline and you get a message.
I am on holiday – how do I pause?
Under “My listings” you pause until further notice or until a date – on that day the space is automatically bookable again. Bookings already confirmed remain valid; if you still need the space, you cancel them one by one. Searchers only see “Paused”, never until when.
Do I keep control of my space?
Completely. You set the times, days and price and pause at any time – no notice, no fee. parkbro only rents out what you release. A confirmed booking remains a commitment: it runs to its end even during a pause; you can delete the listing as soon as no booking and no request is outstanding.
How does the renter get to my space?
You store a gate code in the listing and, if needed, a short access note (key box, entrance, space number). The renter sees both in their booking one hour before the start, until 24 hours after the end; you change the code at any time. For monthly rentals you hand over a badge or remote as usual.
How do I recognise my renter?
With a request you see first name, rating and vehicle; upon acceptance the full name and licence plate. Every renter is ID-verified. On site a glance at the licence plate is enough – or you scan the parking card behind the windscreen and see immediately whether the booking is valid.
How much effort is it really?
After listing, practically none: short bookings confirm themselves, longer ones you approve with one tap. Settlement and receipts run automatically – booking and paying launch in winter 2026/27.
The renter does not show up – what then?
Then the space stays reserved for them until the end of the booking and you earn in full – paid is paid. From 30 minutes after the start you can note the no-show in the booking; it serves as evidence if questions come up later.
I have to cancel a booking – what happens?
It takes one tap in the booking; the renter gets everything back, including the service fee. Every cancellation of a confirmed booking is recorded in your account – if they accumulate, restrictions up to suspension follow. Not counted are up to three cancellations per year made within 24 hours of an instant booking and before the start. Declining a request never has consequences. If you cancel a rental already in progress, the renter gets back the time they can no longer use, with the share of the service fee; further months are dropped, and this cancellation is recorded too.
What if a stranger’s car is on my spot?
The renter reports it right away with a photo, and you receive the report. Within 24 hours you give your view, gladly with your own photo. Without your reply the report automatically counts as justified after 48 hours; with a reply parkbro decides. If the report is justified, the renter gets the unusable time back – your earnings drop by that amount, parkbro takes no commission on it; from the second justified incident the renter may cancel the rest of the booking free of charge. Towing is the last resort – and only under the rules that apply to your property; the costs are borne by the person responsible.
What if a renter doesn’t leave?
Your renter is ID-verified, with name and licence plate. When the time runs out, the app asks them whether they have left and notifies you if the reply is missing. If the car is still there after ten minutes, one tap is enough: the overstay is recorded and, once payment processing launches, charged at the rate of your listing, for up to three hours. If the car blocks you and the renter does not respond, after review you receive an additional CHF 10 inconvenience fee (CHF 5 handling goes to parkbro) and we take care of it. Towing is the last resort – and only under the rules that apply to your property; the costs are borne by the renter.
I already rent out fixed spots – is parkbro worth it?
Yes, for the gaps: between two long-term tenants or in free hours you fill the vacancy by the hour or day – and find the next long-term tenant along the way.
What is the QR sign?
Once your listing is approved, you get a print-ready sign with a QR code in the app. Put it up – whoever passes scans and books directly.
Safety & trust
How safe is parkbro?
Everyone is ID-verified, with name and licence plate. Your exact address is only given after a confirmed booking. Problems are documented with photos and decided within fixed deadlines.
What happens to my ID?
We check it only to keep out fakes and fraud – afterwards the image is deleted automatically, at the latest after 48 hours. We archive nothing. Your uploaded rental or purchase contract is deleted 30 days after the decision on your listing.
Who sees my address?
Before the booking only the street without house number and a point on the map that is deliberately offset by a few dozen metres. House number, space number and exact location are seen only by someone with a confirmed booking – the access code only one hour before the start.
What do others see of me?
First name with the initial of the surname, profile picture, Verified badge, rating, “Member since” and, for hosts, response rate and response time. Your full name is seen only by the other party of a confirmed booking. E-mail and phone never. Companies appear with their company name.
What evidence is there when problems arise?
Renters can photograph the condition on arrival and departure right in the app – time-stamped and safely stored. When something is reported, the photo comparison counts, not the loudest voice. You too can submit photos and your side for every case.
What happens in case of damage or a dispute?
Report the case in the app up to 24 hours after the booking ends, up to 72 hours in overstay cases. First you sort it out directly – most cases are resolved within 48 hours in the chat. If not, one side hands the case to parkbro: the other side has 24 hours for their view, the decision comes within 3 working days with reasons by e-mail to both. While a case is open, the payout for that one booking waits. The decision settles what the renter gets back from the amount paid. Whoever causes damage is liable for it; you settle it between yourselves or through your insurance – we deliver the evidence and the documented sequence of events.
Who is liable if something gets damaged?
Whoever causes the damage – parkbro connects and delivers the evidence: photos, timestamps, history. You insure your vehicle yourself, the host their space; the host is responsible for the safe condition of the space (gate, lighting, black ice) – as a host, check whether your personal liability insurance covers letting. Record the condition on arrival and departure with the photo in the app.
I received a fine – what now?
On private property there are two kinds: against a court-ordered parking ban you file an objection within the deadline; a private “inconvenience compensation” you answer with proof of your authorisation. Both work with the proof of authorisation that you generate as a PDF in the booking – up to 14 days after the end. Report the case to us as well; if the host lacked authorisation, they bear the fine.
How do reviews work?
After the end you review each other – up to 14 days after the booking ends. Reviews are public, factual and cannot be changed afterwards; you can reply publicly to a review once. Insulting or irrelevant reviews you report in the app, parkbro removes them.
Why no payment or contact outside the app?
Payment and messaging run through the app – it protects both sides: evidence in disputes, refunds, ratings. So sharing contact details is blocked.
Where is my data stored?
In a data centre in Zurich, Switzerland. The app uses your location only with your permission and only on the device, to centre the map on you. If you have the route shown, start and destination go to our own route server in Switzerland – without a log.
How do I delete my account – and when is that not possible?
In the profile under “Delete account”. You receive an e-mail with a link valid for 24 hours – only the click deletes. While a booking is running or upcoming, a dispute or an occupied-space report is open or the final receipt is still pending, deletion waits – after that it happens immediately. With the account your listings are deactivated; reviews and completed bookings remain without your name. It also waits until 24 hours after the end of your last booking, until 72 hours in the case of an overstay or a blocked space, so that the other party can still report damage – the app shows you the time. An open amount, an open chargeback or a balance not yet paid out also hold it up.
Money & taxes
What exactly is the service fee?
15 % of the rental price, at least CHF 0.90 – once per booking and already included in the total price shown. Hosts pay 5 % commission on their earnings. You see both in the app: on every listing and before every booking, before you confirm. The price you confirm stays fixed for that booking – even if the host adjusts the listing later. Nobody pays on refunded units: if the renter gets money back, no commission is charged on it. No hidden costs – that is the whole pricing model.
Do I get a receipt?
Right after booking the confirmation arrives by e-mail. The receipt comes once, at the end of the parking: immediately on checkout, otherwise after expiry – with period, address, rent, service fee and any credit. You download the same receipt as a PDF in the app.
When do I get paid?
Payouts start with the launch in winter 2026/27; until then parkbro only records the amounts, but you can see your balance at any time. Then: after the booking ends, the period for complaints runs: 24 hours, 72 hours in the case of an overstay or a blocked space, 7 days during your first 30 days and for your first three paid bookings. After that the amount is released, provided no case is open. Your first payout comes as soon as CHF 5 is released – from then on we collect until CHF 50 is reached, at the latest by the end of the month. Companies are settled monthly per property. The app shows you your balance and the next date. For your space to be bookable, you set up your payout account with our payment partner Stripe in the app.
Where is it paid out to?
To the bank account you store in your profile. We store your IBAN only in masked form; every payout carries the address and period in the reference, so you can match it on your bank statement without the app.
What do I see of my earnings?
Three figures: net earnings in total, of which released, of which under review (up to 24 hours after each booking end). Plus per booking what you earn net, and once a year a summary as a PDF for your tax return.
The renter cancels – what do I get?
If they cancel early enough (for hours and days up to one hour before the start, for months up to seven days before), nothing is due and your space is free again immediately. If they cancel later, parkbro retains half the rent – it is yours, less the commission. If they only withdraw a request, nothing had been accepted yet.
The renter leaves early – do I get less?
Yes, for full unused units: if someone books four hours and leaves after one and a half, they get the two full remaining hours back, and your net drops accordingly. In return your space is immediately bookable again. The started unit always counts in full.
What is the founding partner?
The first hosts and property managers start with half the commission in the first year from activation and keep a Founding Partner badge in their profile permanently.
Do I have to tax the income?
Yes – rental income is taxable, also for private individuals. Attach the app’s annual summary to your tax return. From CHF 100'000 annual turnover across all your activities, VAT may apply. You are responsible for your taxes; we do not replace tax advice.
Legal
Who do I conclude the contract with?
The rental contract for the space you conclude directly with the other side: renter and host. parkbro connects, provides the app and, from the launch, processes the payment. The listing’s conditions and the GTC apply equally to both sides. (GTC Sections 2 and 4)
From when is my booking binding?
With “Instant booking”, as soon as you tap Book. With “On request”, as soon as the host accepts; they have 24 hours for that, at the latest until the start. If no acceptance comes, the request expires and you get everything back. (GTC Section 4)
What may I do as a renter, and what not?
You park the stated vehicle during the booked period within the markings. Access codes stay with you and apply only to your booking. Storing, washing, repairing, a second vehicle or passing on the space are excluded. (GTC Sections 6 and 6a)
What am I responsible for as a host?
That you may dispose of the space – for a rented space with your landlord’s consent –, that it is private property, that the space is free and accessible during the booked period and that it is safe to use (lighting, snow, gate). This liability as owner stays with you. (GTC Sections 3, 3a, 3b, 6 and 7a)
How long can I review or report a problem?
Review: up to 14 days after the end. Report a problem or damage: up to 24 hours after the end, up to 72 hours with a recorded overstay case. After that you have 48 hours to clarify in the chat before you hand the case to parkbro; without a handover it closes after 14 days as amicably settled. (GTC Sections 11 and 13)
What happens with a suspension?
Booking, listing and messaging are no longer possible, your listings are paused. Your future bookings – as renter and as host – are cancelled and the other party gets everything back; a running booking runs to its end. We tell you the reasons as far as possible. (GTC Section 15)
What rights do I have to my data?
Access, correction, deletion and a copy of your data. You get the copy directly in the app under “Export my data”; for everything else an e-mail from your account’s address to support@parkbro.ch is enough, reply within 30 days. (Privacy Section 9)
What happens when – as a renter?
1. Booking: an instant booking is binding immediately; a request needs acceptance within 24 hours. 2. 10-minute grace period: cancel free of charge as long as you have not displayed the access. 3. Free cancellation until 1 hour before the start (duration up to 14 days) or 7 days before (month); after that until the start 50 % of the rental price. 4. One hour before the start: gate code and access note appear in the app. 5. Space occupied: report immediately with a photo – the host has 24 hours for their view, without a reply the report counts as justified after 48 hours. 6. 15 minutes before the end: reminder; extending works as long as the following slot is free. 7. End: 10 minutes’ grace, after that overstay is recorded (at most 3 hours). 8. Leaving early: “I’m leaving now” – full unused units come back, receipt immediately. 9. Up to 24 hours after the end: report a problem; up to 14 days: review. 10. Dispute: 48 hours of clarification in the chat, then a decision by parkbro within 3 working days.
What happens when – as a host?
1. Submit the listing: review within 48 hours; ID images are deleted after the decision, the contract after 30 days. 2. Request: accept or decline within 24 hours, otherwise it expires. 3. Cancelling a confirmed booking: the renter gets everything back, the cancellation is recorded (up to three grace cancellations per year right after instant bookings). 4. From 30 minutes after the start: note a no-show. 5. Unauthorised vehicle reported: 24 hours for your view with a photo. 6. After the end: the app asks the renter; “Car is still there” you report up to 24 hours after the end. 7. Booking end plus 24 hours’ complaint period: the amount is released if no case is open. 8. Payout (from the launch): the first as soon as CHF 5 is released, then from CHF 50 or at the latest at month end; companies monthly per property. 9. Up to 14 days after the end: review the renter.
Where do I find the GTC and privacy policy?
On the website in the footer of every page, in the app under Profile: imprint, privacy policy and GTC. The German version is binding.
